Blackburn Rovers are close to completing the signing of striker Anthony Modeste on loan from Ligue 1 outfit Bordeaux. Les Girondins made the announcement but added that the loan deal did not include an option to make the transfer permanent at the end of the loan. The 23 year old, who joined Bordeaux from Nice, has struggled to make the first team in recent months and netted his last goal for the club in a 2-0 win over Caen in November.
The 23 year old is yet to pass a medical and agree personal terms with Blackburn, and is currently travelling to England to put the final touches on the deal. If it goes through, Modeste will become Steve Kean’s first signing of the winter transfer window.
