Blackburn Rovers are close to completing a move for Hoffenheim striker Vedad Ibisevic. The Lancashire outfit have agreed a £6m fee with Hoffenheim for the Bosnian’s transfer and personal terms have also been agreed with the striker. But Ibisevic is yet to undergo a medical and there are issues regarding his fitness. The Bosnian international has been plagued by injuries in the last two seasons and has not quite been the same since suffering a knee injury two seasons ago that wrecked Hoffenheim’s title chances.
Blackburn boss Steve Kean has also lined up Mounir El Hamdoui as a replacement should Ibisevic fail his medical. A decision is expected to be taken in the next 24 hours, with Kean quoted as saying that they will finalise one of the two deals for sure.
