Chelsea have officially announced the signing of Brazilian midfielder Oscar. The 20 year old midfielder moves to London from Internacional for a reported £25m fee. No contract details were given for Oscar, who is currently with the Brazilian football team in London preparing for the 2012 Olympics.
The versatile Oscar, who can play both in midfield and on the wing, becomes Chelsea’s third acquisition of the summer after Eden Hazard and Marko Marin. The Blues have also recruited Eden’s younger brother Thorgan.
Oscar netted a hat trick in Brazil’s U-20 World Cup win over Portugal last summer and has already been capped by the Samba Boys at senior level, making his bow in a 3-4 loss to arch rivals Argentina.
