According to reports, Chelsea have bid £20m for Shakhtar Donetsk’s midfield playmaker Willian. The skilful Brazilian has been long linked with a move to Chelsea and London rivals Arsenal but this bid marks serious intent from the part of the Blues in bringing the 23 year old to the capital.
The 23 year old Willian caught the eye of pundits and fans alike with some dazzling performances for Shakhtar after joining the Ukrainian giants from Corinthians in 2007. His form has also seen him earn a call up to the Brazilian national team, for whom he has already won two caps.
Should the deal for Willian go through, it could mean an end to Chelsea’s interest in highly rated Lille OSC star Eden Hazard.
