Manchester City striker Valeri Bojinov’s loan move to Italian Serie A outfit Parma has now become a permanent switch. Bojinov was loaned out by City to Parma last season, and his impressive performances for the Gialloblu led to the club wanting to sign him on a permanent basis.
The details of the transfer were not announced, but reports suggest that Bojinov has signed a five year contract with the Gialloblu. Sevilla were also interested and came close to beating Parma to the Bulgarian’s signature with their bid.
Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi said that he was delighted with the acquisition of Bojinov and said that the club had been working since January 2010 to make his arrival a permanent one.
Apart from Man City and Parma, Bojinov has previously represented Lecce, Fiorentina and Juventus.
Parma finished 8th in Serie A last season.
