Bolton Wanderers have announced the signing of Croatian striker Ivan Klasnic on loan from French side Nantes. The 29 year old, who joined Nantes from Werder Bremen last season, will play at the Reebok Stadium till the end of the season.
Born in Germany, Klasnic started his career with St.Pauli before moving to Werder Bremen in 2001. After seven seasons with the Green Whites, he left for France, but struggled at Nantes. His most memorable moment was to help Nantes beat defending champions Lyon in Ligue 1 last season. However he could not prevent Nantes from going down to Ligue 2.
Trotters boss Gary Megson said that they had been tracking Klasnic for a while, and added that he was a striker with excellent pedigree at both league and international levels.
