Middlesbrough striker Kris Boyd has left Teesside to pursue his career east in Turkey. The ex Rangers star has followed his former team mate Kenny Miller to the Turkish Super Lig by signing for Eskisehirspor. The announcement of Boyd’s transfer was made by Boro, who said that Boyd’s contract at the Riverside was cancelled by mutual contract and that he had penned a three year deal with Eskisehirspor.
Boyd joined Boro from Rangers last summer but was unable to reproduce his SPL goal scoring exploits in the Championship. He was eventually farmed out on loan to Nottingham Forest when he scored six goals in ten appearances to help Forest progress to the playoffs.
According to reports, Boyd will earn around £40,000 a week in Turkey. Hi club finished 7th in the Super Lig last season.
