German giants Bayern Munich have revealed that they’ve made an approach for Chelsea full back Jose Bosingwa. The Portuguese international is top of Bayern’s wanted list this summer. Right-back is a problem area for the Bavarians after Willy Sagnol was forced to retire and Italian Massimo Oddo returned to AC Milan following a loan spell.
Chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge is hoping to reach a deal with the Blues and told Kicker “We are holding talks, but we still need the approval of Chelsea,”
“He is one of the best right full-backs around.”
The former champions look set for a clearout this summer with midfielder Tim Borowski, full back Cristian Lell and Austrian Andreas Ottl all set to exit the Allianz Arena. The Bayern chairman revealed that French winger wizard Franck Ribery is unlikely to leave the club, despite Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea all chasing his signature.
Rummenigge saying “We all agree, including Franz Beckenbauer, that we will do all we can to keep hold of Franck,”
“I am quite relaxed about the Ribery issue because nothing can happen without Bayern.
“Even (coach, Louis) Van Gaal knows what an exceptional player Ribery is. Franck is one of the best three players in the world and we know what we have in him.”
