Wigan Athletic defender Titus Bramble has been reunited with former manager Steve Bruce after signing for Sunderland AFC. The transfer fee for the deal was not announced by either side, but rumours put it to be somewhere around the £1 million mark. Bramble has signed a three year contract with the Wearsiders.
Bramble started his career with Ipswich Town and had a loan spell with Colchester United before joining Sunderland’s North East rivals Newcastle United in 2002. He left the Magpies after five years to join Wigan in 2007.
The 6’2” Bramble has been capped by England at U-21 level, but his inconsistency at club level has not allowed him to make the big jump to the senior side.
Bramble said that Bruce’s presence was a big factor in his decision to join Sunderland.
