Veteran striker Peter Crouch will again be seen in the Premier League after Burnley completed his signature on winter transfer deadline day. The 38 year old has joined the Clarets from Stoke, with Sam Vokes going the other way as part of the deal.
Crouch was part of the Stoke team that was relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2017/18 season. Apart from the Potters, Crouch has also represented five other clubs in the top flight over the course of his near two decade long career- Liverpool, Spurs, Portsmouth, Aston Villa and Southampton.
While Crouch’s current contract will only keep him at Turf Moor till the end of the season, Vokes has joined Stoke on a three and a half year deal. He has been at Burnley since 2012 and made over 200 appearances for the Clarets.
Crouch currently holds the record for most headed goals in the Premier League and will be looking to add to that tally during his stint with Sean Dyche’s men. Burnley are currently 17th in the table and will play Southampton in the next round of fixtures. Their last game saw them come close to upsetting Manchester United, only for Victor Lindelof’s stoppage time equalizer to deny them at Old Trafford
