Cardiff City have completed the signing of striker Heidar Helguson. The Icelandic forward has put pen to paper a one year contract with the Bluebirds and joins the Welsh outfit from Premier League outfit Queens Park Rangers. Helguson becomes Cardiff City’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window after Joe Lewis, Jordon Mutch, Kim Bo-Kyung and Etien Velikonja.
Despite bolstering his strike force with Helguson, Bluebirds manager Malky McKay still remains keen on the signing of Craig Bellamy, but will have to wait for the striker to return from the London Olympics, where he is currently doing duty for Team GB.
Cardiff however will face competition from Mark Hughes and QPR for Bellamy’s signature.
