Liverpool and England striker Andy Carroll looks set to complete a £15million move to West Ham after passing a medical with the Irons. The Geordie striker spent last season on-loan at the Boleyn Ground and impressed enough to earn a permanent deal, despite his time in the East End being blighted by injuries.
Carroll moved to Liverpool in 2011 from Newcastle for a British transfer fee of £35million. He failed to make as big an impact as expected and struggled to convince everybody at the club that he was good enough.
He moved to West Ham last summer and Hammers boss Sam Allardyce was impressed with the impact the big striker had on his team.
Liverpool could use some of Carroll’s transfer fee to sign FC Porto winger Christian Atsu. The 21-year olds contract expires next summer, so he could be available for a cut-price fee of £3million. The youngster is rated as an exciting winger with heaps of pace, but is also considered very inconsistent.
Liverpool look set to secure the signature of Sevilla midfielder Luis Alberto. The Reds have made an offer according to Alberto’s club, which they are currently considering. Alberto spent last season on-loan in the second tier of Spanish football with Barcelona B.
