MLS side Chivas USA have signed Brazilian striker Maicon Santos on loan from Bonsucesso. The 25 year old started his career in his native Brazil with Madueira before moving to Tunisian giants Etoile Du Sahel in 2006. In 2007, he was loaned out to Libyan outfit Al Nasri, and left Etoile next year for Israeli side Hapoel Ironi Kiryat Shmona F.C.
However he did not spend too much time at Hapoel either, and returned to Brazil in the same year.
Maicon Santos has been training with Chivas for the past two weeks, and is likely to make his debut for the club against Toronto FC on Saturday.
Chivas coach Preki said that he was delighted to sign a forward of Santos’ calibre, and added he would give them extra options in the attacking third of the pitch.
