Celtic’s Mexican international Efrain Juarez has left the Glasgow outfit to join Real Zaragoza on a season long loan deal. The 23 year old, the first ever Mexican player in the Scottish Premier League, joined the Hoops from UNAM last summer after the World Cup, but struggled to hold down a first team spot at Parkhead, making only a total of thirteen appearances for the Hoops in the 10-11 season.
Juarez was close to moving in the winter transfer window to get some regular first team football under his belt but the transfer did not materialise.
Juarez, a member of Mexico’s victorious 2011 Gold Cup side, is a versatile midfielder who can also operate in defence.
