Chelsea have been linked with a move for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. The England international striker has been linked with summer moves to Barcelona, Arsenal, and PSG this summer already.
Manchester United boss David Moyes has stated that the striker will be staying at Old Trafford, despite the striker handing in a transfer request towards the end of last season.
Speculation over Rooney’s future had died down, but Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has kicked-started the transfer rumours again by admitting his admiration for the ex-Everton striker. Chelsea are believed to be interested in strengthening their attack this summer.
A player that does not look like being at Old Trafford next season is Barcelona starlet Thiago Alcantara. The young Spanish international has been constantly linked with a move to United this summer.
Boss David Moyes looked set to meet Thiago’s £15million minimum fee release clause. However, European champions Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has revealed his desire to take the Italian-born playmaker to the Allianz Arena.
United have been linked with other midfielder targets such as PSV Eindhoven’s Kevin Strootman, but Thiago appeared to be their most likely target. It now looks like Guardiola presence in Bavaria could persuade the 22-year-old to make the move to Germany.
