If reports in England are to be believed, Carlo Ancelotti is planning a major clear-out at Chelsea in the summer, as he looks to rebuild him Chelsea team from scratch and reduce the average age of the squad. After the capture of David Luiz and Fernando Torres in the summer, the Italian manager has set his sights on some of the top young players in Europe.
But there’s not going to one-way traffic, as such. An equal number of players are expected to be shown the door out of Stamford Bridge. Two candidates who would be asked to find other employers are Jose Bosingwa and Salomon Kalou.
Juventus are readying £6million bid for Jose Bosingwa. The pacy right-back who is a Jose Mourinho signing, has failed to pin down his spot in the starting eleven. Bratislav Ivanovic is the first-choice right back at the club. New signing David Luiz can also slot in if needed. Bosingwa was not included in the Chelsea squad in their last game, and it’s almost certain that the Portugese full-back will leave the club in the summer.
The future of Chelsea’s Ivory Coast strikers is bleak as well. Chelsea have slapped a price tag of £9m over Salomon Kalou. Turkish giants Galatasaray are interested in him and are expected to make a bid. More importantly, the future of Dider Drogba hangs in the balance as well. Drogba has been left out of the eleven after the arrival of Fernando Torres and is not getting any younger by the day.
