Chelsea are set to renew their interest in AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo, after having a £9million plus Claudio Pizarro rejected by the Italian giants. The Italian international is believed to interested in joining up with former boss Carlo Ancelotti at Stamford Bridge and could hand in a transfer request in the next days.
Pirlo is a key player for Milan and they would be unhappy about selling another midfielder with Brazilian superstar Kaka already departed to Real Madrid. Their fans have criticised the management over the lack of transfer activity and the sale of the 30 year-year old could agitate the AC faithful even more.
One move that looks like it could go through is that of Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano from Sevilla. The two clubs are still discussing a fee, which so far has proved the stumbling block to any deal. The striker is keen on a move to the San Siro and has been hoping all summer that he could complete the switch. The move looked dead but the player himself has admitted that he hasn’t given up hope of the being revived.
Meanwhile Chelsea boss Ancelotti has told Portuguese full-back Paulo Ferreira that he has a future at Stamford Bridge. The 30 year-olds appearances were limited last season with compatriot Jose Bosingwa making the right-back position his own.
