Chelsea’s veteran midfielder Frank Lampard is being linked with a move to China. Guizhou Renhe are believed to be the club interested in acquiring the services of the 34 year-old England international midfielder.
Deputy chairman of the Chinese club told Sky Sports: “Yes, we are in contact with Lampard but so far nothing has been settled,”
Chairman Dai Yongge has already claimed in the Chinese press that the veteran star will join in January and be the captain of the team for the new Chinese season, which starts in March. Renhe qualified for the AFC Champions League, after securing a fourth place finish last season.
Should Lampard move to the Far East then he would expect to pick up a bumper pay packet. Former-Chelsea teammates Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba are already plying their trade in China with Shanghai Shenhua. The pair are reportedly on £250,000 a week in the Chinese capital.
