Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho looks determined to strengthen his Blues frontline this summer. According to Sky Sports, the Blues are set to battle it out with French club PSG for Napoli striker Edinson Cavani. PSG are believed to have bid £43million for the 26-year-old on Tuesday.
According to Sky, Chelsea also made an approach on Tuesday for the Uruguayan, but Mourinho’s men are not prepared to pay the £54million buy-out clause in Cavani’s contract. However, the Azzurri look set to stand firm on their valuation of the striker.
Cavani has become unsettled by speculation over his future and has asked his agent to arranged talks with the club about his valuation. The striker himself has already stated that he believes that his valuation is far too high.
Another striker that is again being linked with a move to Stamford Bridge is Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney. The England international handed in a transfer request towards the end of last season.
New United boss David Moyes will now decide whether to sell the striker or not. Rooney has already been linked with moves to the likes of PSG, Arsenal and Manchester City this summer.
