Chelsea target Taison has completed a switch from Metalist Kharkiv to local rivals Shakhtar Donetsk. The Brazilian midfielder was expected to join Chelsea in the current transfer window but Metalist’s new owner, Serhiy Kurchenko, wanted more than the £8.5m odd that the Blues were willing to pay, leading to the deal falling through. Shakhtar activated the buy out clause in Taison’s contract and will pay Metalist $20m ( approx £12.4m) for his services.
Shakhtar qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League ahead of Chelsea and already have plenty of Brazilians on their roster- Fernandino, Alex, Luiz Adriano, Alan, Willian and Ilsinho to name a few.
Taison has put pen to paper a five year deal at Shakhtar.
