Queens Park Rangers striker Djibril Cisse has joined Qatari outfit Al Gharafa on loan till the end of the season. Cisse was deemed surplus to requirements at Loftus Road afte the club completed the signing of French striker Loic Remy from Marseille in the current winter transfer window.
This is Cisse’s first stint outside Europe. The French forward is a well travelled man having previously represented the likes of Auxerre, Liverpool, Marseille, Sunderland and Panathinaikos apart from Italian outfit Lazio, the club from which he joined QPR twelve months ago.
Al-Gharafa are managed by Alain Perrin and have the likes of Mark Bresciano and former Middlesbrough striker Afonso Alves in their ranks.
