After being released by Barcelona, teenage prodigy Guy Assulin finds himself being pursued by both Tottenham and Manchester City. The Israeli midfielder known for his dribbling and trickery was valued at a staggering £34 million by the Catalan giants. By cancelling his contract, he can now transfer to any club on a free.
Assulin made his Barcelona debut at the age of 16 in a Cup game and also went on to become the youngest capped player for his country. The 19-year old suffered a horrific knee injury which set him back and he also had a spat with Pep Guardiola’s coaching team. With the lack of first team opportunities at Barcelona, “the new Messi” as he is dubbed, is looking forward to some first team action in England.
Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City have all expressed interest. Assulin underwent a trial at Blackburn Rovers in the third week of July. Reports suggest that City have also invited the youngster to train with them for a brief stint. Harry Redknapp is also keeping a close eye on the situation.
