A number of European clubs are reportedly interested in Xherdan Shaqiri, with the Swiss international reportedly set to leave Liverpool this summer. The likes of Lazio and Napoli in Italy and Sevilla and Villarreal in Spain are keeping tabs on the 29-year-old, who mentioned in a recent interview to the Italian press that the Reds would not stand in the way of a potential move this summer.
Shaqiri joined Anfield in the summer of 2018 but has found first team action tough to come by, and has only made 63 appearances for the club across all competitions in the last three seasons. He managed only one goal of the club in the 20/21 campaign. The lack of regular football is the primary reason why he is seeking a new challenge, and Liverpool will reportedly be willing to let him go for a fee around the £15m.
Italy appears to be a more likely destination at the moment- Shaqiri has previously played for Inter, and has also stated his admiration for Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri and sporting director Igli Tare.
Shaqiri was part of the Swiss side that reached the quarterfinals of Euro 2020 before losing to Spain on penalties.
