Fulham have completed the double signing of midfielders Harrison Reed and Mario Lemina from Southampton. Reed was on loan at Craven Cottage last season, and the deal has now been made permanent, with the 25-year-old inking a four-year contract (with the option of a year’s extension) which will keep him at the club till 2024.
Lemina has joined on a season-long loan, with Fulham having the option to make his signature permanent as well. The loan fee is said to be somewhere around the 2-million-euro mark, with the purchase clause (for 6 million euros) set to be triggered if he makes 20 appearances and the club avoid relegation. The French medio was a then club record signing for Southampton when they bought him from Juve for £15.4m back in 2017, and was on loan at Galatasaray last season.
The duo are the Cottagers’ third and fourth signings of the summer window after Anthony Knockaert and Antonee Robinson, and their arrivals may pave the way for the exits of Kevin McDonald and Stefan Johansen.
Fulham secured promotion under Scott Parker, managing an immediate return back to the Premier League by beating fellow London rivals Brentford in the playoff final.
