League one oufit Crawley Town have completed the double signing of Mustapha Dumbaya and Connor Essam from Portsmouth and Gillingham respectively. Dumbaya has signed a contract till the end of the current 2012/13 season while Essam has joined on a two and a half year deal from Gillingham.
Dumbaya was on the wishlist of several lower division clubs following his release from Portsmouth and Crawley manager Richie Barker said he was impressed by his performance when the Reds played Pompey last month, claiming it to be a “Man of the Match” one.
Dumbaya is primarily a defender who can also play in midfield, while Essam is primarily a centre half.
Essam was also a free agent and has previously had loan stints with Dover, Dartford and Luton
