League Two side Crewe Alexandra have completed the signing of midfielder Lee Bell on a free transfer. Bell, 27, a product of Crewe’s youth academy, was a free agent after being released by Macclesfield Town at the end of the 2009-10 season. Bell has signed a two year contract with the Railwaymen.
As mentioned before, Bell started his career with Crewe and had spells on loan with Shrewsbury Town and Burton and Hove Albion before transferring to the latter in 2007. In August 2007, he joined Macclesfield Town and made over a hundred appearances for the club in a three year stint with the Silkmen.
Bell expressed delight at returning to his boyhood club and said that there was only one place he had in mind once he learnt that Crewe were interested in signing him.
