Top European clubs are said to be looking with interest at Newcastle striker Demba Ba after it emerged that the Senegalese international has a release clause written into his Magpies contract. Ba, who has been in sparkling form for Alan Pardew’s side so far, scored a great goal against champions Manchester United last week and has already crossed double digits for the season.
According to reports, Ba has a £10m release clause, a figure that is more than acceptable for several European clubs given the goals he’s producing. Spurs manager Harry Redknapp also made mention of Ba’s release clause in a recent interaction with the media, although no mention was made of the amount.
Ba is currently on international duty at the 2012 African Cup of Nations in Equitorial Guinea and Gabon.
