Newcastle United have officially made their second signing of the summer transfer window in the form of Demba Ba after the Senegalese forward completed his switch from West Ham United to Tyneside. Ba, 26, has signed a three year deal with the Magpies and his transfer comes just a day after Newcastle skipper Kevin Nolan moved in the opposite direction by signing for the Hammers.
Ba scored seven times for West Ham in the second half of the 2010/11 season and also netted twice on his full debut. He had joined the Hammers earlier this year from TSG Hoffenheim.
As mentioned above, Ba is the second new player to arrive on Tyneside in June after Lille’s Yohan Cabaye.
