Dortmund target more English youngsters after Sancho success

Borussia Dortmund are interested in bringing more English talent to the Bundesliga after Jadon Sancho’s successful switch to the Westfalenstadion. According to reports, BVB have shortlisted three more English youngsters- Liverpool’s Bobby Duncan, Man City’s Phil Foden and Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Liverpool striker Duncan is the cousin of former Reds legend Steven Gerrard and was the first English player at any age level to score a hat trick against Brazil.
Foden and Hudson-Odoi were both members of England’s U17 World Cup winning squad last year in India, with the former also getting the Golden Ball award at the tournament. Foden’s case is a lot like Sancho’s, with the plethora of talent available at Pep Guardiola’s disposal restricting first team opportunities for the talented teenager.

Hudson-Odoi is also a target for French side Monaco, who have recently appointed Thierry Henry as their new manager. Given ASM’s record in developing youngsters, Dortmund may face some serious competition from the Ligue 1 outfit should Hudson-Odoi express interest in leaving England.

Sancho has made 11 appearances for BVB this season and has already netted twice and racked up eight assists. His performances also earned him his first senior international cap earlier this month against Croatia.

Dortmund currently top the Bundesliga, and beat Stuttgart 4-0 over the weekend, with Sancho one of four different scorers for Lucien Favre’s men.
