French side Bordeaux might be preparing a bid to land another Arsenal player after signing their former captain Laurent Koscielny during the transfer window. This time they are preparing to bid for Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
Mohamed Elneny is a player that has failed to make an impression under Unai Emery last season and has yet to feature in a game for the Gunners. With the signing of Dani Ceballos and the emergence of Joe Willock this season it is difficult to see when he will get a chance in the first team.
The Egyptian international has already been told by the Arsenal head coach that he cannot guarantee him playing time this season and that he will be better off leaving the club. This might be an excellent opportunity for the Egyptian international to revive his career.
He was signed for £7m from Basel in 2016 and has not been able to impose himself in the team either under Arsene Wenger or Unai Emery. Unai Emery has hinted at the start of the season that several fringe players might be leaving the club as they want to balance the books after missing out on the Champions League and making a record signing for Pepe.
It is reported that Bordeaux has been following Mohamed Elneny for quite some time and now with only one week left before the transfer window closes; they are prepared to make a bid. It is believed that Mohamed Elneny will not refuse the transfer as he wants to play games and he will be reunited with his former teammate and captain Laurent Koscielny who already plays for the French side.
Bordeaux is keen to build a team that will allow them to challenge for European places after finishing 14th last season.
