Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o has revealed that he had an offer from an English Premier League team in the summer of 2009. Eto’o, who then played for Spanish giants Barcelona, also revealed that he was close to signing on the dotted line for a move to the Premier League before Jose Mourinho rang him up and managed to change his mind. Eto’o then moved to Inter and won a treble with the Nerazzurri under Mourinho.
He now plays for Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala. Eto’o also revealed that he had no regrets chosing Inter over the unnamed Premier League team, adding that it was hard to inform them but they understood his decision at the end.
