Premier League Everton have completed the double signing of ex-Wigan players Antolin Alcaraz and Joel Robles. The signings came on the back of striker Arouna Kone joining the Toffees from the Latics for £5million.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has now signed two other players that played under him at the DW Stadium. Alcaraz has joined the Toffees on free transfer after his contract with the Lancashire club expired this summer.
The 30-year-old Paraguayan international missed a large portion of last season through injury, but helped his team to defeat Manchester City 1-0 in the FA Cup final in May. However, he could not stop the Latics being relegated to the Championship.
Joel Robles has arrived at Everton from Atletico Madrid for an undisclosed fee and signed a five-year contract with the Toffees. Joel joined Wigan on-loan in January and went on to displace Ali Al Habsi as Wigan’s number one.
The 23-year-old is highly-rated and was part of the Spanish under-21 squad that took part in this summer’s European Championship. He has represented his country at every junior level, but has not yet received a call-up to the senior squad.
