According to Sky Sports, Everton are looking to strengthen the centre of their midfield with the signings of James McCarthy from Wigan and Sevilla’s Gary Medel. Neither player would be a cheap acquisition though.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has already brought in three players from his former-club Wigan in Arouna Kone, Joel Robles, and Antolin Alcaraz. If these reports are accurate then McCarthy could be the next to make the trip to Goodison Park.
Any new signings would mostly have to be paid for by the exit of star midfielder Marouane Fellaini or England left-back Leighton Baines.
