According to Sky Sports Premier League Everton are set to make a move for former-Sunderland keeper Craig Gordon. The Scottish international was released by the Black Cats in the summer, after his contract expired.
A few years ago Gordon was considered one of the brightest young British keepers in the game. A £9million move to the North East from Hearts in 2007 was supposed to confirm the keepers’ ability. Unfortunately Gordon has been constantly hampered by niggling injuries.
Everton boss David Moyes has confirmed this week that he is looking to add a keeper to squad as competition for regular number one Tim Howard. Current backup Jan Mucha is out of contract in the summer and the Scot is now looking at his options.
If Moyes could get 29 year-old Gordon back to full fitness, his compatriot could be the ideal solution to his goalkeeping problems.
