Former Chelsea star Didier Drogba has ended his spell at Shanghai Shenhua and joined Turkish giants Galatasaray on an eighteen month contract. Drogba was one of the stars for Chelsea in their Champions League triumph last season and he will get another crack at European football’s premier club competition with Gala, who will face Schalke in the last sixteen.
Drogba’s signing is the second high profile one for Gala following Wesley Sneijder’s arrival from Inter.
Drogba reportedly earned £200,000 a week at Shanghai but was always linked in the media with a return to Europe.
The striker will join up with the rest of his new team mates after the Africa Cup of Nations where he is currently on international duty with Ivory Coast.
