Spanish giant Real Madrid are interested in bringing prodigious Manchester City youngster Phil Foden to the Bernabeu, according to The Mirror.
The club from the Spanish capital are one of the most opulent and successful in the world, and the powers that be would be confident of turning the head of the young man once dubbed “The Stockport Iniesta.”
Phil Foden has not had the game time he might have hoped for this season, and this is a definite factor in Los Blancos’ belief that they can tempt him to part ways with Pep Guardiola.
When David Silva retired at the end of the 2019-20 campaign, Foden might have hope that it would be the starting gun for his time as a mainstay in the City team.
But with signing of Ferran Torres, who has been magnificent since his arrival, Foden has still not cemented a place in the starting XI.
Real Madrid meanwhile could do with a playmaker to take the burden off the likes off Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
No specific fee has been mentioned, but you would have to guess that it would be in excess of £70million.
