Premier League newbies Nottingham Forest have added another player to their roster after announcing the signing of midfielder Gustavo Scarpa. The 28-year-old has moved on a free transfer and will officially join the club on January 1. He has put pen to paper a three-and-a-half-year deal that will keep him at the City Ground till the summer of 2026.
Scarpa’s signing means that Forest have bought nearly two dozen different players since earning promotion to the Premier League last summer. He will also participate in Forest’s upcoming training camp in Greece, where they will take on local clubs Olympiakos and Atromitos in friendlies.
The Brazilian started his senior career with Fluminense and had a short loan stint at Red Bull Brasil before joining Palmeiras in 2018. He has made more than 200 appearances for Palmeiras and won both the Brazilian league and the Copa Libertadores during his stay in Sao Paulo.
Forest are currently third from bottom in the Premier League table. Their first game after the World Cup is a League Cup tie away at Blackburn Rovers, following by a league match on the road against high flying Manchester United, who are 5th in the league, but have played one game lesser than Forest.
