Former-Arsenal star heads home, as Gunners are linked with winger

Former-Arsenal winger Alexander Hleb has rejoined first club BATE Borisov. The 31 year-old was released by Spanish giants Barcelona at the end of the season, when his contract expired. Hleb started his career off at BATE and helped the club win their first ever Belarusian league title in 1999.

He has since played for Stuttgart, Arsenal and Barcelona. His spell at Arsenal is acknowledged as the best time of his career. His Barca career never really took off, due to lack of form and fitness.

Another winger who is in the news at the moment is Ghana star Andre Ayew. The young Marseille star is believed to be interesting Arsenal. The French club rate the youngster at £14million and are prepared to sell Ayew, should a club come up with the required fee.

Arsenal face competition for Ayew from Italian giants Inter and also Premier League rivals Manchester United. Inter currently look favourites for the players signature though.
