The latest name to emerge as a candidate for the Blackburn Rovers job is former-Birmingham boss Alex McLeish. The Scot was sacked by Aston Villa at the end of last season, but is being considered by the Blackburn board as a candidate for the Rovers hot seat.
McLeish has enjoyed mixed success in his managerial career. He won numerous trophies in the SPL with giants Rangers. He also helped Birmingham to promotion to the top flight and Carling cup victory.
Unfortunately for the Scot the Blues were relegated and he jumped ship to bitter-rivals Aston Villa. The Villans only narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League last season. McLeish has acknowledged that he is looking to get back into the game.
Former-Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp has also been linked with the vacancy, but McLeish’s experience in gaining promotion from the top flight seems to be attracting Rovers.
