Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly eying Brazilian star Hulk as a potential replacement for injured forward Raul Jimenez. The veteran striker is available on a free transfer after deciding not to extend his current stay at Shanghai SIPG and is said to be open to a move back to the Premier League.
Portuguese media outlets say that Hulk is prepared to take a wage cut of as much as 90% for a move to Wolves, and that could make him an attractive proposition for Nuno Espirito Santo, who is looking for cover upfront after seeing Jimenez ruled out for an indefinite period.
Hulk’s agent has been quoted as saying that his client has received several proposals from across Europe, with clubs in Turkey, Portugal, England, Spain and Germany all interested in the Brazilian.
Interestingly, the 34-year-old Hulk has never played in any of Europe’s traditional “big” leagues. Despite being capped 48 times by Brazil, he has only played for Porto and Zenit St Petersburg in Europe.
Wolves are currently 10th in the table and will face Aston Villa this weekend. They were well beaten by Liverpool in their last league game- their first without Jimenez after the forward’s horror head injury against Arsenal.
