Hungarian midfielder Zoltan Gera appears set for a reunion with some of his former West Bromwich Albion teammates as news has emerged that the Baggies are close to signing him on a free transfer from current club Fulham.
Gera was signed by current Baggies boss Roy Hodgson when the latter was in charge of Fulham in 2008. Hodgson believes that the player will fit in well amongst his former team mates and has already begun talks with Fulham.
Gera, who joined West Brom from Ferencvaros in 2004 for a reported £1.5m fee, was a fans’ favourite at the Hawthorns before he decided to swap the Midlands for London.
If the transfer goes through, Gera will be the third addition to West Brom’s ranks this summer, with the Baggies having already signed Gareth McAuley and Billy Jones.
