Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman looks set to be unveiled as the new Bolton boss, after being given permission to speak to the Trotters. Palace had rejected an initial approach, but has now given Bolton permission to speak with the Scot. Bolton has been without a manager since former-striker Owen Coyle left the club earlier this month.
Freedman has made an impressive start to his managerial career at Selhurst Park, helping the Eagles survive the drop from the Championship last season, despite the squad being wafer thin. He has done a superb job at Crystal Palace on small resources, guiding Palace to fourth place in the Championship this season.
The likes of Billy McKinley and Mick McCarthy have already been linked with the vacancy, but it now looks like it will be Scot Dougie Freedman that will be the new Bolton boss. The 38 year-old is expected in Lancashire in the next few days to discuss personal terms, ahead of the move.
