Bastia midfielder Florian Thauvin is being linked with a move to the Premier League with Newcastle and Arsenal. The French club have revealed that they have already rejected a bid of £2.6million from Newcastle for the 20 year-old midfielder.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been in touch with Bastia to express his interest in the midfielder, but the Gunners have yet to make a firm bid for his services. Arsenal have yet to strengthen their squad in the January transfer window, but are expected to be active before the window shuts on Thursday.
Newcastle have already been busy bringing in new recruits from Ligue One and it seems that Thauvin is their next French fancy.
The youngster has 18 months left on his contract and Bastia are reluctant to sell the talented star until next summer. Thauvin has represented France at youth level and is expected to have a bright future in the game.
