Fulham are reportedly working on an audacious cash + swap deal for Andy Carroll that will also see Clint Dempsey move in the other direction. Dempsey, who has 12 months left on his current contract, was one of the stars for Fulham last season and has made no secret of his desire to move to a bigger club, especially with age not exactly on his side. Cottagers boss Martin Jol is hoping to use Liverpool’s interest in the American forward in order to bring Andy Carroll to London.
Newcastle United are also planning a similar deal that will involve Senegalese striker Demba Ba, with Carroll also linked with a loan switch to Milan, who are likely to sell Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Paris Saint Germain.
