Southampton are on the verge of pulling off a major coup after it was revealed that they are close to completing the signing of in demand Bologna striker Gaston Ramirez. The Uruguayan forward was widely linked with a switch to Liverpool earlier this summer, but is now on the verge of signing for the South Coast club after they reached an agreement with Bologna over a transfer fee, reported to be somewhere around the 15 million euro mark.
Ramirez, who signed for Bologna from Penarol in his native Uruguay in 2010, will reportedly put pen to paper a four year contract with Saints, who are one of the three new teams in the Premier League this season.
