Aston Villa midfielder Nigel Reo Coker has revealed that a host of clubs are interested in securing his services in the summer, with newly crowned Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund among the frontrunners. Reo Coker’s contract with the Villans ends this summer and the two parties are yet to agree upon an extension to his current four year deal.
Dortmund are seeking to reinforce their midfield following the departure of Turkish medio Nuri Sahin to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
However Reo Coker has admitted that it will be difficult for him to leave Villa Park if manager Gerard Houllier insists he stays. Houllier has been instrumental in the revival of Reo Coker’s career at Villa and the player has admitted that he owes the former Liverpool gaffer a huge debt. However the lure of playing in the Champions League next season ( Dortmund have automatically qualified as a result of their first place finish) could result in the 26 year old leaving Villa this summer.
