Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Andres Guardado is hopeful that compatriot Giovani Dos Santos will join him in La Liga. The Tottenham youngster has been linked with a move to Deportivo in the January transfer window. The former Barcelona star has been frozen out of Premier League duties with his only appearances coming in the Carling Cup.
He was the star of his sides Gold Cup victory but has found his opportunities at White Hart Lane limited since his move from the Camp Nou. Deportivo boss Miguel Angel Lotina is believed to be keen on the Mexican international and his international teammate Guardado believes the player would benefit from first team football.
Guardado told AS: “If Giovani came then we would be able to count on a quality player who has huge potential and can help raise the level of the team,”
“He is a great player and I am not just saying that because he is Mexican too but because he is going through a very good time on a personal level.
“In his club side though he is not being given much time to play and it would be great if he went to another team because he is a very important player for Mexico and if he came here then even better.”
