According to reports, both Arsenal and Aston Villa are said to be very interested in Norwich City’s Emi Buendia, with the Gunners already having reportedly tabled a £30m bid for the Argentine playmaker.
The 24-year-old was very impressive for Norwich last season in the Championship, scoring 15 goals and having 17 assists to his name for the Canaries in the 20/21 campaign. His excellent form helped Norwich return to the Premier League as champions- they finished top of the table with 97 points, six ahead of nearest rivals Watford.
Buendia is yet to be capped by Argentina, but is in Lionel Scaloni’s Copa America squad. He didn’t feature in the Albicelestes’ most recent game- a qualifier against Chile that ended in a 1-1 draw.
Any potential move for Buendia to the Emirates might also spell an end to Arsenal’s interest in Martin Odegaard. The Argentine is himself said to favour a move to the Gunners, although Villa might be a more realistic opportunity for regular, first team football given the competition for first team spots at the Emirates.
Arsenal finished 8th in the Premier League last season, outside the European places, but six points ahead of Villa, who took 11th spot.
