According to reports, Arsenal are said to be interested in signing Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer. The 21 year old has been a revelation for Palace at Selhurst Park this year and Unai Emery regards him as the ideal candidate to fill the void at the back for the Gunners with Hector Bellerin out for an extended period.
The Londoners would have to stump up something in the region of £40m for the youngster, and face competition from the likes of Everton and Man City for his signature. Given Arsenal’s lack of activity in the winter window, it remains to be seen whether the board agree to sanction for the funds for a potential big budget signing.
Wan-Bissaka has made 25 appearances for Palace this season, but missed their most recent 4-1 win over Leicester due to a hamstring injury. The Foxes clash is only one of two he’s not played for the Eagles in the league in 2018/19, the other being the Round 3 fixture against Watford.
While Palace would like to keep him at Selhurst Park, Roy Hodgson will be aware that it’s only a matter of time before bigger clubs swoop in, and has reportedly earmarked Wigan’s Reece James as a potential replacement for Wan-Bissaka.
