Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a summer swoop for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Japanese midfielder Takashi Inui. Inui has been in great form in the Bundesliga this season and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who rates the former’s compatriot Ryo Miyaichi highly, is mulling over bringing him to the Emirates.
The Gunners’ two other midfield targets for this summer look unlikely to arrive, with Wenger explaining that Alex Song will continue for atleast another season in Spain as he battles to get into Barcelona’s starting lineup. A move for Napoli’s Gokhan Inler, who is also a target for Liverpool, looks unlikely as well.
Wenger’s plans to acquiring Victor Valdes to lend a measure of stability at the back has also hit a brickwall after Barcelona confirmed that the keeper, who has said he will not extend his current contract at the Nou Camp, will not be allowed to leave this summer.
